More about Adam

I’ve been training in martial arts for over 20 years.  I have a second degree in our Catch Wrestling system under Glen Cole.  I am one of only four that he has put a black belt on and one of two that has earned a second degree.  I also have a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo under Joey Perry in the West Coast World Martial Arts system.  Additionally, I have rankings in Brazilian Jujitsu and Judo.

I have been instructing in martial arts for over a decade between the various styles that I am belted in.  I fell in love with the ground aspects of submission wrestling and the throws of Judo.  My teaching will reflect that passion.  There is just something satisfying about hitting someone with the Earth and asking them nicely not to try to get back up.

My primary focus in martial arts is to preserve the art as it was created and spread the knowledge.  I focus on practical applications for our techniques.  I believe that a move or technique should be as effective in the street as it is in a tournament.  Ultimately, I want my students to be safe wherever they find themselves and to have the confidence to get through whatever situation they are in.

Outside of the gym, I am one of the pastors at a local church, a father, a husband, and an advocate for the disabled. Being a Christian and a pastor, my faith guides me in how I run my business and teach the students.  We foster a safe learning environment and teach with respect given and required from the students.  We do not tolerate bullying or abusive behavior.

Assistant Instructor

Brandon Young

Mr. Young has been training with me and my instructor Glen Cole for a number of years.  He is currently my highest ranking student and is an excellent teacher on and off the mats.  He has over a decade of teaching experience.  He is great with kids and adults alike and can take the most complex move and make it seem effortless.
